You will have to purchase ammunition and pay range fees. You cannot take any ammunition live or spent (fired and inert) from the range. |
Can I come along and shoot to see if I like shooting? |
Yes you can providing we have resources on the day. You need to have a chat with eiterh the Club Captain or Vice Captain. We require prior notice if you are intending to visit so we can arrange our club rifle and targets. Please see the 'Contact' page
You will have to sign our visitors book, do a COVID check-in, pay for ammunition and range fees. You will be coached and shoot under supervision at all times and shown the safety requirements of our sport. |
How often do I need to attend before applying to become a PFRC member? |
The Club’s policy (which is in alignment with Police Licensing requirements) states that a new shooter needs to attend a standard number of times before being considered for club membership.
If you are interested in becoming a member you need to have a chat with the Club Captain or Vice Captain. There is a minimum of 3 attendances required over a three month period. However, attendance does not automatically entitle you to membership. Each application is assessed as part of the process. |
What happens after my initial three month attendance requirement? |
You can apply to become a club member. You will have to complete a club application form (ask the Club Captain or Secretary for this form). You will need to be nominated by a club member, seconded and voted in by the club members at the next designated club meeting.

Membership - How much does it cost? |
There are four levels contained within the total cost of membership.
1st is club level - Perth Fremantle Rifle Club 2nd is district level - PFRC is a member of the District - Metropolitan Districts Rifle Association 3rd is State level - Western Australian Rifle Association (WARA) and 4th is National level - National Rifle Association of Australia (NRAA) You will be required to be a fully paid up member of all levels to be considered 'fully financial', a criteria required by West Australian Police licensing. Also being 'fully financial', means that you are insured on any West Australian Rifle Association (WARA) controlled range, or any other affiliated state body rifle range in Australia. Please inquire to cost as fees change annually. |
How do I get a club supported rifle licence? |
You will only be able to obtain a 'club support' if you are a fully financial and an active club member.
'Fully financial member' is a member of the club and all associated/affiliated bodies and that all membership fees have been paid by the due and payable date. If a member joins part way through the membership year, fees are paid on a prorata basis. 'Active club member' is a member that shoots a minimum of 4 times per year. If you have never held a firearms licence you will have to complete a 'Firearm Awareness Certificate' these can be completed at the WARA office. If you are purchasing a rifle, a 'Firearm Serviceability Certificate' needs to be completed. This is the responsibility of the seller of the firearm. Licencing is handled by the West Australia Police - please see the WA Police website for all the licensing requirements. |
